Northey Island | National Trust
Over the last 20 years a lot of development has been seen within the electronic controls industry which has enabled all sorts of products to run more efficiently. Advanced Aeration’s Bio-Bubble combined waste water and sludge treatment process is no exception. The product has seen significant development in the way in which it is controlled to further enhance the environmental characteristics for which we are best known.
We have upgraded many of The National Trust’s smaller properties served by Bio-Bubble systems over the last two years, including our solid state control with latest GSM technology. For the Trust it has provided peace of mind that we can report and remotely manage systems that may be tenanted by the public or lived in by staff or wardens, keeping them posted with management data emailed reports on status direct to their regional offices so that they can be sure the Trusts obligations are met. Northey Island is a remote island that is connected to the mainland by a causeway which is covered by the tide twice daily, it is also the site where the Viking raiders first landed and used the island as a base during the Battle of Maldon in AD991 making it Britain’s oldest recorded battlefield site. Most recently the Trust’s Bio-Bubble, serving the holiday let premises on the island, received its updated control equipment linked to the existing concrete tank infrastructure. With restricted access, by the tidal causeway or small boat, one of the attractive features of this hideaway is having up to the minute feedback from the plant meaning that when breakdowns or power failure occurs, adequate early warning is received so that the Residents are unaware of any problems, nor do they suffer any consequences of a failure that would disrupt waste services to the properties. Northey Island located within the Blackwater Estuary in Essex and is at the heart of the newly established Marine Conservation Zone, it is robustly protected by having its sewerage waste treated by the latest Bio-Bubble technology.
