Animal Hospital | RSPCA Newbrook Farm
The outdated and run down animal re-homing centre at Barnes Hill was sold for the development of a new ASDA Superstore which presented the RSPCA with the opportunity to design and build a new state of the art Animal Hospital and Veterinary Centre servicing up to 220 outpatients with up to 20 – 25 surgical operations being performed each day.
The RSPCA once more selected a Bio-Bubble bespoke design for the difficult task of treating the combined waste from the new animal hospital, staff housing, Education Centre for school groups, a visitor centre, and the kennels and cattery associated with a re-homing operation of this size. The design of the Bio-Bubble Advanced Aeration waste water treatment plant needed to satisfy the stringent requirements imposed by The Environment Agency, who had a number of concerns, together with ensuring that enough safety provisions were in place to protect the ground surrounding the Eden Valley aqua duct, managed by Severn Trent Water, which delivers fresh water from Wales to Birmingham. Despite all the difficulties associated with providing an acceptable scheme to all parties involved once again the Bio-Bubble team came up trumps. Construction is well underway with successful local contractors Tomlinson delivering the scheme for The RSPCA with support from local architects Gould Singleton and engineers from Structural Design Services. The programmed opening is in August 2012 so that continuity of service to the local area can be provided.
